We wish to inform that Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad ("Bursa Malaysia Derivatives"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia Berhad ("Bursa Malaysia") has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited ("MCX") to develop the commodities and futures markets within Malaysia and India.
This MOU will allow Bursa Malaysia Derivatives and MCX to develop areas of co-operation, facilitate exchange of information, knowledge and expertise for the purpose of promoting and developing the commodities and futures markets within these two countries.
This MOU is for a period of 36 months commencing from the date of this MOU or until the purpose of this MOU is accomplished or a formal agreement recording the agreed terms and conditions is signed between the parties, whichever is the earlier. This MOU does not create legally binding obligations between the parties, and will not have any financial impact on Bursa Malaysia.
