We refer to the news article appearing on the website of The Edge at http://www.theedgedaily.com on 6 May 2005 10.30 p.m.
The article amongst others stated the following:-
"Bursa Malaysia Bhd is mulling over selling the main and annex buildings at Exchange Square in Kuala Lumpur for possibly RM270 million to reduce cost of operations. ?..."
We wish to clarify that Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) is currently exploring the feasibility of divesting the main and annex buildings at Exchange Square.
As at the date hereof, the management is still considering various options available to Bursa Malaysia which include sale and lease back of the property at Exchange Square before submitting any proposal to the Board. The RM270 million mentioned in the article refers to the net book value of the said main and annex buildings as at 31 March 2005.
Further details will be announced should a decision in respect of any divestment of the property at Exchange Square is made.
